Pros

The 10 inch victorinox chef's knife is great for the home kitchen. It is the best knife i have used in my 48 years in the kitchen. Now my niece has one too.

It's not a forged knife but the blade lasts and lasts and it is very attractive and comfortable to use. I hope it takes a sharpening nicely too & expect it to do so due to the carbon stainless steel blade.

The tang extends a little farther than the last rivet. So your palm is always on metal (unless you have gorilla hands) the rosewood handles are envied as well.

The quality is exceptional. This brand is tops notch for me. No complaint at all.

Cons

The handle is not made of two separate scales, but only has a square-bottomed channel cut for the tapered blade. There is a gap between the handle and blade where they meet. Horrendous formaldehyde smell to wooden handle.
