Pros

These are very sharp right out of the box, lightweight, and well made. We have prime filets which had been in the sous vide for 2 hours (so tender as it was) and it was amazing how these sliced through them. They’re beautiful and sharp and can smoothl... Read More

Was able to wash and air out outdoors and the smell was largely gone. Some are slightly lighter now due to this. I expect the smell to go away after a few more washings and treatments with mineral oil and cutting board butter.

Just like all other victorinox knive, these are perfect (if not expensive! They are beautiful in person. Their reputation is well deserved.

Cons

The cheapo ultra-thin cardboard box and crinkly plastic tray are definitely not something you'd want to give someone as a gift either. This latest rendition is cosmetically beautiful, but functionally inferior.

The knives are very lightweight. The description says expertly made in switzerland but i went over the box and the knives themselves (with a magnifying glass even), there is no evidence of country of origin.

The wood used for the handles is not consistent, varying from medium to dark brown with different degrees of sheen. After one coat, the smell is still there. The reviews of the wood handle smelling are sincere. However, the scent from the handle stain... Read More
