Pros

I would never trade it for an hrc 60 blade but as a starter knife and for price/performance, this knife gets 10/10. I recommend storing on a magnetic bar that hangs on wall.

The victorinox is a great vegetable slicer. The blade stock is thin compared to most, but that's what makes this such a great slicer. The blade is hefty enough to tackle semi-frozen meat. It works very well on heavy meat.

It cleans up (with some barkeeper’s friend) to a shiny, good-as-new knife. But it hones and sharpens easily for beginners. It's not as hard as most japanese knives, but that also makes this an easier knife to sharpen.

This knife makes me no longer yearn for those crazy expensive knives! For comparison, my expensive knife that i splurged on is about $100. Periodically i sharpen the blades using an accusharp knife sharpener.

The knife fits confidently in my hand without strain. It's very easy for me to use with a pinch grip.

Cons

The blade itself seems good, but where the blade meets the handle, the plastic material looks to have been misformed. There is no way to hold the knife other then 100% by the handle because the grip is not flush with the heel.

This knife is great at almost everything i do on a daily basis.

I love the handle but the blade is worthless.

I don't use this for the heavier tasks, such as breaking down a chicken - i have a 12" vintage dexter that is perfect for that.

Definitely one of the best knifes for this price.
