That is not to say it isnt polished in some sense of the word but the polish is woefully inadequate to claim this product to be either smooth or polished especially given its function

Not good if what you want is a steel that aligns the burr without removing or damaging it

It is not mirror polished but it has a shiny satin finish it does not have a dull matte finish
