Pros & Cons
Pros
Victorinox makes a nice plastic sheath, and if this knife came with that and a box, it'd be an awesome combination. Knife is well balanced and sharp. The knife is so sharp i didn't even have to cut through the packaging with a pair of scissors.
It handles well, and seems like the perfect weight for me. The wood handle is comfortable in my hand, and looks much nicer than the plastic handle. It has a great profile for rocking-- my preferred style of cutting-- and i like the feel of the wooden ... Read More
This is by far the sharpest kitchen knife i ever used. I wash it by hand (which just takes seconds) and this knife is still like brand new. America's test kitchen isn't wrong this is a best choice for a chef knife.
Cutting edge is easy to hone, and easy to sharpen properly on a flat whetstone. This cuts well enough when sharpened occasionally and i don't need to wipe it down every time or worry about rust.
Cons
The pseudo rosewood handle stinks. It's one of those things that should have been preventable and noticeable in the manufacturing process.

Got this on sale and i’ve used it a few times since then.
Packaging/appearance
The only improvement i can think of is packaging.
It arrived loose in a big amazon box with just a plastic sleeve over the blade.
For some unknown but inadequate reason, victorinox apparently doesn't believe in telling you that anywhere on the packaging or ... Read More
I'd be thrilled to get this as a gift, but it really should come in a box instead of a thin plastic sleeve and bubble wrap.
