Pros & Cons

Pros

The locking piece is solid with the main blade being fit to the metal piece. The saw blade is really sharp.

The locking flathead/ pry bar/ wire stripper is a nice touch. The one handed opening w/lock-back is a dramatic improvement in addition to the philips screwdriver. The large, locking bottle opener and screwdriver means that the tool can now be used for...  Read More

The rescue knife is the same frame and tools as the soldier, with an additional webbing/seatbelt cutter and glass breaker added. The saw is much longer than on 91mm swiss army knives, meaning one can saw through larger branches or through the same dia...  Read More

Cons

The price has risen substantially and is not worth it. The swiss army pays about $19 apiece for this item.

Quality

I am especially pleased with the saw option.

High quality knife/tool that i will add to my everyday carry items.

It is the quality one expects and did not disappoint on the few days i had it out in the woods.

I can honestly say i found nothing that would lead me to question the quality or workmanship - just the opposite.

Price

Don't care how much it costs, there's no knife like it where i use every blade on it and don't wish for other ones.

This is a monster of a knife and well worth the price.

Packaging/appearance

The rest is just icing on the cake!

Competitiveness

This doesn't replace my edc knife, but it is a good substitute for when you don't want to attach a multitool to your belt.

I camp with several knives plus a multi-tool and a sven saw, and they all have their uses but this is the one that's always with me.

It is not a question of carrying a folding knife, or a multi-tool, or a fixed blade knife.

I am a search and rescue technician/wilderness emt instructor.
