My early 2000s tv picture isnt real sharp and the colors are a little darker than on the lap top but small differences from just being able to actually see the screen and watch in comfort

One thing to be aware of is that the l and r audio outs only work if your cable box delivers stereo via hdmi if the cable box delivers surround sound then this converter will only recover chattering clicks for audio
