Not being able even to get a few questions answered is reason enough to avoid acer's products.

The default screen is incredibly bright so youll probably want to use one of the eco modes via manual image adjust

In fact according to viewsonic customer service they may be discontinuing this their only 1734 monitor by the end of 2014

Im a fan of the oldfashioned square shaped monitors for projects like writing and they are hard to come by nowadays
