Pros

It takes an additional swipe to get the area just below the nose, but that's almost universal with all razors. The shave is close, but not as close as one of those expensive multibladed ones i used to use. Definitely feel like a dolphin.

Enjoy your shave like it was meant to be done. This is way my dad, coming out of ww2 * (but he went to electric in the 60s! I no longer get red bumps like my old razor caused, get a close shave if i try and its freaking cheap!

I wish i would have bought this one first because it’s a super forgiving razor. Switching to this single blade safety razor ended that battle.

Cons

The handle feels rather bulky and heavy and it's rather short as well. While shaving the handle is rather difficult to manoeuvrebecause it feels like a massively bulky piece of metal. I doubt a precision merkur would do this.

In my opinion this is an excellent entry level safety razor based on performance and price.

This handle is so good for anyone that uses a slippery pre-shave oil.

I paired the viking jr with a wilkinson blade, used proraso pre-shave cream, and cremo shaving cream.

Just as good as some of the more expensive brands, but at 1/2 or 1/4 of the price!

I think it will be gentled more by the astra.
