Pros

After using for a while now the shaves are better. Still shaves well, though, so the rating didn't sink any lower.

The emperor is much heavier, looks better, feels more solid, has a thicker and longer handle. It has the heft of the fatboy and a longer handle closer to the late 60’s “balck beauty” adjustable.

Such craftsmanship, much more sturdy with way better material. It’s a lot heavier than expected, in a good way.

The name of the corporation that sells the almost feather but less murderous on amazon is shaving revolution and the funky, beautiful and utilitarian razors can be found at vikingsblade.

This razor is the real deal. It's superb as long as you get a good one. This piece reminds me a great deal of that razor. Nice addition to my growing collection.

One side of the razor has a straight bar, while the other is scalloped. After 6 months of careful use, the butterfly closure loosens after every pass. The number setting doesn’t works unless the butterfly is loose.

Two emperor frosted chrome razors i received have the same problems. There were fingerprints in the coating and little tiny hairs as if no care was taken when it was put on.

If it is moving, it is not discernible by eye. In person it is much more evident. But, in fact, it turns out to be a deception. Update* sending this back.

I don't know if its a muhle r41 competitor but i will give the inexperienced this advice.

Upgraded to this from an entry level, non-adjustable razor.

In that case i’d look to a jagger de89, merkur 34c or perhaps a muhle r41.
