Pros
Brakes work are fine, though it is hard to brake quickly in an emergency situation.
It's well made and rides like a porsche compared to my 10 speed of 40 years ago. The seat is hard (as expected), but the wrapping on the handles is much nicer than the old 10 speeds' super light weight and little tires hold up my big fat body.

For the price, vilano delivered in spades.
For the price, i'm giving it 5 stars.
Everybody is commenting how good looking the bike is and they cant believe the price.
This i believe cost me less than the bike store would have charged me to assist in my warranty claim and tune.
Packaging/appearance
The brake quick release broke right out of the box before i even mounted the wheel to the front.
The pedals on the vilano have a wider footprint.
Competitiveness
I needed to simplify a 10mi round trip commute for less than the price of public transportation.
Again, not an issue because i will be using my clipless pedals.

One main problem with the shifters as stated in other reviews is that they offer no room to mount accessories on the handlebars which leaves me putting accessories on the top of the frame

Also the headset is very stiff and one pedal makes a clunking noise every revolution

The only 2 issues i have with the bike are1 the bottom of tthe front fork came paint chipping away

I did notice that there isnt much room for the front reflector that was included btw much less a front light so kind of bummed about that
