Pros & Cons
Pros
The brakes are strong, integrated gears shift really well, and making adjustments is fairly simple. My only complaint is the brake lines are rather short and makes turning a little difficult, but once i get it tuned i'm hoping that will get fixed!
This affordable road bike is solidly built and perfect for someone interested in biking long distances without spending thousands. My only complaint is it is a little small for a 57cm bicycle. If you aren't clipping in, the highest gear is probably hi... Read More
It has all the little bells and whistles as any other road bike. I am very happy with it and recommend it to anyone like me, who's pretty much a newbie in road bikes. I'm new to road bikes but it seems like a great starter bike!
It’s light and is easy to peddle. I don't have a whole lot of things that are glaring to me i like the ride, pedaling seems smooth. Fast and very light.
The only negative i’d report is that the bike is not the fastest ride out there. It's about a 10-mile commute(16km) and it includes bike lanes, a bit of sidewalk and trails.
Highlights
Quality
Bike is easy to assemble, their customer service is great and overall the quality of the bike is great!
It took me about a half hour with the help of youtube videos to get the rear derailleur tuned perfectly, but it really is perfect now.
I suspect it’s likely to do with the inexpensive wheels.
Its gear mechanism is of an older style but its quality shimano (sti integrated).
Price
For the price, you're actually getting a pretty decent road bike.
Great bike for the price, very happy.
I’d say with everything i’ve done to it, total price is about 500.
Shipping
🤙🏼 by the way, i got this for less than $500 including shipping and tax.
Not slow, but not fast, which for me is perfect.
Packaging/appearance
I didn't really know if cycling was really for me, but i've been having a blast since my first time out on the vilano shadow 3.
Once assembled everything worked great right out of the box.
Competitiveness
In 6 months i have put over 500 miles on it and competed in a sprint triathlon.
Came with everything needed and once out together, rode like a champ!
Don't try to climb with it either, it'll slip gears early and often.
Better to mess up a a bike at this price than a $1000+ bike.

Ive had a couple of mechanical issues while riding where the chain came off the chainring but i chalk that up to user error rather than the bike
