You do need a few inches of destkop overhang for this to clamp to. The only thing i'd improve on the outlets is if the clamp had adjustable rotation.
Our office building is a grand, un-remodeled 1903 historic landmark. Feels sturdy, switch feels rugged, cord is an adequate length ( 6. Inches) easy to fix to table or desk.
No messy wires under the desk. It is so nice not to have to crawl under my desk to unplug my laptop when i want to take it on a trip. A drawback is only 1 or electrical outlets per room.
Cons
The outlets are so stiff that i cannot plug or unplug a cord/charger without using one hand to steady the strip and the other to push or pull hard on the plug. I have to do a lot of plugging and unplugging to rotate what is charging.

I really like that it is so accessible and it can be easily clamped to the desk for better cable management as well.
I like this look better with that being said where you place it will be great because placement with this product is very versatile.
Very tough plugs so it’s really hard to plug something in and pull it out, but overall fine quality

At one point i had it attached on top of my desk but because my desk is glass i decided to move it underneath
