To me it is worth the price difference.

I don't need the absolute best video quality out of my dashcam, but this viofo a129 is dramatically better than the one at 1/3 the cost.

My better dashcam in one of the cars was a rexing v1 and this viofo is better.

I know, it’s not gonna look like blackvue (nice design but connection to iphone is more painful than viofo).
