If your recipe is for up to 4 cups, then this is the right sized container to use. The original container that shipped with my vitamix is great for large batches, but i often have smaller quantity batches for just myself.

Quality build as expected from this company.
We have been using the blender with the larger jug and always thought to get a smaller one for small portions.
Just wish this size came with the product instead of the 64 oz.
Anyway, this review is for this mini version of the larger blender jug that come with the vitamix.
Price
The last downside to this is the cost.
The one that came with my vitamix is a bit small.

I have the vitamix g-series 780 blender and this smaller container works great on it.
Was i crazy to buy a $500 blender only to buy a $162.
Competitiveness
It's what i would expect from a vitamix blending container.
I purchased this container for my vitamix 7500 blender.
But it is exactly the thing, and the only real alternative (if you want the absolute best) is to buy a blendtec at about the same cost.
All vitamix jugs are supposed to come with a corresponding tamper.
