Pros & Cons
Pros
Cleaning is a breeze, especially using the cleaning button. While you may have to take a wash cloth to the inside once in a while, for the most part, the self cleaning does the trick. Cleaning mode really works.
The accent a3500 is noticeably quieter than other models. The controls are easy to read and intuitive and, as suggested earlier, it’s a very intuitive machine overall. I am now a believer.
The base kit for the smoothies (about $100, including the blade base), is only $25 more since it uses the same base. It is very nice to load up a smoothie and then clean up the ingredients while it is blending.
Cons
New a3500 has persistent error 1 codes out of the box. Had to power cycle 20 times over 30 minutes to blend first smoothie and run cleaning cycle. Could not even crush frozen berries. If i attempt to blend anything frozen or even remotely solid the bl... Read More
The power rocker switch fits loosely on the unit and is made of cheap hollow plastic. It is incapable of dealing with anything remotely viscious. Purchase a ninja instead, or any blender really.

Due to safety and durability concerns about repeatedly heating plastic at such high temperatures i sprung for a separate stainless steel container which for no good reason i can think of vitamix only offers in a barely adequate 48 oz capacity option for making hot foods
