Pros & Cons
Pros
These bowls are fantastic. I find them to be way more versatile, too. My vitamix container is too large for small jobs, so these were the perfect compliment. Very powerful blender.
Perfect for small quantity purée and blending. Nice for salad dressing and chopping. The blades can’t chop, but if you want single serve guacamole or sauces, it will handle that well.
Lids for these bowls get enormous use in our house. Sometimes we use them as coasters; sometimes we it as a lid for brewing our tea in our iced tea jar. The lids are great for storing things in the fridge.
It's just a matter of * the base onto the bowl far enough so the arrows are within range of each other. You can still shake the bowl to redistribute the contents in lieu of a tamper. It would be nice if there was a latch or something built into the bo... Read More
Small 1 cup size containers are great for grinding small batches of spices or making fresh salad dressings or small size smoothies. Great for grinding whole cinnamon sticks or nutmeg cloves. Love using this for cinnamon.
Cons
These have a stick substance around the rim & gaps around the edges and appear to have been glued back together. Needs a lot of water before it can grind sauces etc. Since the jar is broad and shallow, things get stuck to the sides and i need repe... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Quality is awesome and it is easy to clean.
Make sure you get these for your blender; this is specific to the ascent series which we don’t have; not a problem with the product.
All the quality of full sized batches in a one meal size.
They're also easier to clean, which is a pain to do with the krups.
Packaging/appearance
You can measure ingredients right in the container, so that's one less thing to wash.
As mentioned, any leftovers can be stored in the container.
Competitiveness
I recently purchased a vitamix and added this shortly after.
I ordered ascent series blending bowls and smoothie cups with adapter to go with my legacy vitamix 5200 blender.
I got a vitamix ascent series blender recently and it did not come with the small bowls.
For anyone owning a legacy vitamix model this is a must have.

I think these will be more useful than the personal smoothie containers that can with the adapter which i don’t find that great since you have to add liquid at times and the whole thing becomes messy because you have to open the container to add things

You have to buy the blade attachment separately these dont have any blending tool in them
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Theyre specific to the vitamix that has the detection technology built in the ascents in particular and the trick to getting the blender to detect the container is to attach the blade assembly put the container and the blade assembly on the base machine and then further tighten the container while its on the machine until the circle with a dash through it on the screen goes away
