Pros & Cons
Pros
The retainer nut for the 64oz canister fits the new 32oz container perfectly. It is great to just replace a part instead of replacing the mixer. Instead of having the new orange gasket, the gasket is formed as part of the rubberizing.
Cons
This ad shows the part you want but it's not what you get!
Highlights
Quality
Works fine, feels quality, no leaks or issues so far.
It screwed on smoothly with no hassle and so far has stand up to its security with all the blending we do.
I had been putting my vitamix container in the dishwasher and over time this piece started to rust and break in half.
For peak performance i rotate this retainer nut with the existing one once a year.
Price
No need to spend $200 on a new container.
I liked that i fixed an almost 5 hundred dollar machine for under 90 dollars .
Shipping
But took almost two weeks to get here.
Item received as described in a reasonably timely manner.

If you already have mediumtolarge slipjoint pliers aka channel locks and a medium crescent wrench you can easily remove the original retainer without the accessory tool
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Open the channel lock pliers enough for the jaws to span the retainer nut gap and insert in the gap facing straight down handles pointed straight up in the air
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Then use the crescent wrench on one of the channel lock jaws to turn the entire channel lock retainer setup
