Plastic insert with hole for cords on top bar (not bottom) is optional (see pics). That little shelf under the screen comes in very handy for the extra items needed to give presentations and show movies.
Cons
The instructions are highly difficult to decipher, screws were missing, and the shelf cannot actually be mounted with the parts and instructions provided. There is no way to screw the shelf into place.
Highlights
Quality
This is a well constructed heavy duty tv stand.
Sturdy, and accommodating to different heights as well as both horizontal and vertical positions.
The instructions are well written and the hardware is labeled which many manufacturers fail to do.
The base and legs are much sturdier than others.
Packaging/appearance
Very sturdy product with extensive packaging to delineate which pieces to put where.
