The soft close mechanism is great and im sure there would be more negative reviews if it didnt have this function

However its not a softclose mechanism in the way that your kitchen cupboardsdrawers may have in that you close and then it slowly fully closes itself instead its a system which stops from slamming and then doesnt close the final fourfive centimetres of the bin therefore you have to push it closed yourself

Taking rubbish out of the bins using liners couldnt be easier and they have been no problem to clean

Only issue is having to take the lid off to remove the bin at the back but this is a very minor complaint

I purchased the bin specifically for a 400 mm cupbord but ended up installing into a 500 mm cupbord because the side opening door on the 400 did not open quite fully which prevented the bin from sliding out completely
