The unit is intended to sit on top of the wood burner if you have a flat spot to allow the transfer of heat through the fan’s metal casing to power the fan itself
This is clever stuff and as it’s not quite the wood burning season yet and i’m waiting for my flue to be cleaned i do this at least twice a year i’ve taken a video of the unit working on my hob to show how effective it is
As the unit warms up the fan slowly starts and a small glow is emitted from the red led but once up to full heat the fan runs very smoothly and quietly and the red led glows brightly
I even managed to thwack my fingers whilst moving it as there is no way of turning it off once hot so caution is advised
