Pros

This fan has a soothing white noise sound that helps me sleep at night. It's louder than the cheap oscillating fans but the greater volume isn't obnoxious like a box fan. My only gripe is that it can be loud on the med-high speeds.

Cons

Customer service refuses to do anything without providing a serial number. Also no made in usa label, but there is made in china stamped on the detachable power supply. This is entirely unacceptable.

Solid fan and great low speed airflow without any noise!

I love their designs, functionality, and how long they last.

The one from bb&b was not variable speed - it had 3 settings and it was loud even on the low setting.

At the end of the day the variable speed setting is key and worth the extra money.

Price

The $100+ version from bbb is not worth the money at all.

Now this is a good fan but that $30+ increase is ridiculous.

One was $120 and the second cost me $130.

Packaging/appearance

We took it out of the box, plugged it in, listened to the fan, and then promptly put it back in the box.

Competitiveness

As compared to the bb&b version of 5 yrs.

This model is what i would expect from vornado - even the style is reminiscent of the older versions.
