Pros

The retro vornado vfan sr. Blows cool air and circulates it around the room incredibly well. It's great too but i much prefer the dc version. It is hot. But, it cools!

It's fairly quiet on the first two settings and a little louder on the highest. But it's never bothered us. It's pretty noisy (especially at full power) but we use it at night and like the white noise.

Cons

My small room vornado feels like it pushes more hair than this and for 1/3 of the price. Did not feel any cooling as with other fans.

The fan just stops. It attracts dust and grease and the only way to clean it is to remove the front frill. I believe it's due to a failing capacitor.

Fan is too heavy, easily tips over. Only a tiny screw secures it in the higher position.

The 783dc fan is not quiet at any speed. The rough, raspy appearance of the sound pressure level (spl) shows mechanical grinding, not wind noise. At the highest setting, the fan is very loud!

Totally worth the cost in my book.

Well worth paying a little more than just a cheap fan.

200 bucks was a reach even for a fan coming from me.

I bought it on prime day, guessing the discount price would make up for (what i thought was) the extra cost of buying the "brand name".

On hotter days, i will use the medium or high setting, but haven't really needed to do that.

Packaging/appearance

Circulating fans are not much to look at, but this one at least looks interesting.

Competitiveness

I chose the variable speed which is so much better than a 3 speed fan.

I've owned an array of different branded fans over the years and this model specifically is the best one by far.

As long as vornado maintains their quality, then i won't even consider another brand.

I have tried all fans from the cheap ones to the most 50-80 dollar range.
