The humidity sensor senses the humidity and you can set it to the level you want. I like that you can run it continually until the humidity gets up where you want it.
Fan works fine in 1400sq ft living, kitchen, dining, breakfast nook. My only complaint is that it's a bit loud to run 24/7.
Cons
Water evaporated through the wick. Water levels never drop, even on nonstop use. Cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher.
