Quality
In conclusion, i'm very happy with the vornado evap2 humidifier.
I'm just a dude that loves this product.
I cannot sleep with the hi setting on, only low.
It's not really too loud even with the fan on high.
Competitiveness
This is the best humidifer i've owned (and i've owned several).
While quite compact it does a great job humidifying my living room/kitchen area making the winter much more comfortable.
It has never shut off even on the lowest humidity setting when a separate humidistat shows a much higher humidity level in the room.

The lid is pretty tight and the container is not flat so the thing wont sit on the counter
