Pros & Cons
Pros
The fan has a timer that you can adjust in one-hour increments from 1-12 hours. There are instruments on top, as well as on the remote control, that adjusts air speed. There is also a mechanical knob that adjusts the direction of airflow.
The fan is quiet up to about setting 30. The noise at highest setting is loud but not unpleasant. Between 10 and 20 it's nearly silent putting out a nice gentle breeze. The stream of air is continuous without being loud.
The glossy black remote control is sleek and attractive too. The remote works well and is easy to use. My only wish is this had alexa built in, so i didn't need to fiddle with another remote.
The base comes in four idiot-proof interlocking pieces. The base is quite large, as is needed to stabilize this tall unit.
Vornado tower fan is an excellent fan. It's gloss black and mat gray (the vents), and it's assuredly going to look nicer in your family room or bedroom. This fan solves the problem!
Cons
Has a remote although it's very cheaply made, glitchy when it works and will easily get misplaced as there is nowhere on the fan to store it. The power cord is at the bottom of the unit and very unstable. This is not surprising, as the adjustable vane... Read More
Very poor design. Very cheaply made. How extremely disappointing of a product for this price point. If this isn't a defective unit or somehow damaged in shipping, then the product is junk.

But, quality generally prevails over gimmicks, so i still recommend it.
Vornado has a serious quality control issue on their hands with their dc fans.
In terms of build quality this is not a $150 fan.
Price
So first off, this fan was on sale for 70 bucks when i bought it and it is for sure worth that price.
It's a very nice fan but it is a little hard to justify the cost.
Shipping
99 different speeds is probably overkill, but the fact is you can make it go as fast or slow as you want for comfort.
Packaging/appearance
It arrived in a box that had the best packaging i have ever seen.
The remote button feels like it's about to fall off out of the box.
Competitiveness
This fan has pushed such a force throughout not only the room, but adjacent hallway you feel cool air at a distance of 40ft+.
Not only is it more effecient, but it moves much more air per cubic ft compared to any typical fan.
Vornado sells an ac version of this fan that is cheaper but less efficient and only has 5 speed settings; and only a 5-year war... Read More
In terms of attractiveness, i've seen much nicer looking fans for the price.

You have to physically move it and point it to the area you want air to blow just a personal annoyance for me but the power plug does not come out directly from the fan itself it has one of those voltage converters which plug into the fan and into your outlet
