The tornado creates an atmosphere that smells and seems clean and crisp. It releases such clean air with pure oxygen that every time i go in my bedroom i feel like i’m in the high mountains.

Cons

Trays and parts near the bulb are brittle and discolored. The pco stage is poorly shielded and leaks a ton of uvc light into the neighboring parts.

Again, i wonder about the effectiveness of this since night time is when i really want to be sure that air quality is being optimized.

And red light a poor quality of air.

Price

Pros=catalytic elementsmicrobe killergreat lighting and auto dimminglow cost filters, with excellent construction.

Bottom line is that this is quite a good air purifier for a reasonable price.

In my experience, these are similar to the costs associated with most other purifiers.

Looking up filters, i found that they are competitively listed when cost is accounted for.

Packaging/appearance

My daughter is a freshman university student, and has to live the the student dormitories.

Competitiveness

Out of the box, the vornado unit seems to be good quality, especially compared to some of the no-name units i've tried in the past.

It does have some awesome options though, including a prefilter and a post carbon filter.

The surface area of the filter is not as good as the winix unit.
