Like all filters you have to do periodic probably annual as everything seems designed for that interval maintenance

There is a uv bulb that emits light to activate the titanium dioxide coating on the screens there is a silverscreen tray above and below the uv bulb tray

It is very intuitive and if you had no instructions you would easily be able to use this

At first start up on auto mode it cranked up the fan speed to full power and was loud as others have stated but after the initial cleansing of my office air the fan level decreased to low where you could barely hear it running
