As described it has two power settings which are moderated by its control dial allowing good control of its heat.
I’ve had intermittent luck with temp-sensing heaters and the remotes sometimes do and do not work.
All of the materials are top notch.
Price
I purchased a returned item at a great price, don't know that i would have paid full retail.
I was unwilling to spend another $300 for something that “kind of” worked and took up so much floor space so i started searching amazon.
I was hesitant to purchase because of the high $$ but i am very, very pleased with the purchase.
Packaging/appearance
My only complaint is that the picture on the site and even on the box is a little misleading in terms of color.
All pics in the ads & on the box show that the fan has gold accents around the v logo on the front and on the legs of the fan.
Competitiveness
I’d settled on trying an oscillating tower heater when vornado brand popped up as a suggestion.

You could sit directly in front of the unit and feel the warmth but never overheated the way some heaters can cause one to feel

And when placed in the corner of the room it expands outwardly so completely that the entire room is the same temperature

Note that this is not hot to the touch shuts off at the slighted tip when i move it and is very quiet on low

The higher fan speed is similar in noise to a fan you would use to cool

However i usually set it to high and once the room is warm enough i keep it on low
