Pros

The vortex crossfire ii is a budget hunting scope that would fit nice on a savage axis / ruger american rifle for a budget rifle optic. It is a long scope which i like.

Sight adjustment knobs are nicer than i expected. Glass gets a little foggy on higher magnification but i expected that for the price.

The vortex 4-12x40 is a budget hunting scope with a nice bdc that can be used for ranging mixed with a ballistic calculator for holdovers. It is to be used at 12x and if you are going to use that bdc, you need to be prone or in a very, very stable sho...  Read More

Leopold vx freedom has an adjustable objective and the reticle is very clear at 2nd focal plane use. The elevation turret is marked with numbers. The scope has a great feature which is adjustable turrets to zero.

Cons

Scope's windage adjustment to the left maxed out. Ao adjustment is very tight, while the zoom adjustment is loose. There is again cloudy eyepiece on the inside similar to my previous ones. Would not buy this scope for anything.

Quality

My first vortex and i'm really impressed with the quality.

The glass quality is crystal clear, bright and very sharp even at full magnification.

I prefer a scope with the objective turret focus.

I challenge anyone to find a better scope in value and quality.

Price

This scope is an all around good deal, quality, price.

The glass is not as clear as my leupold's that are 3x the price.

Packaging/appearance

It was pretty close to start with right out of the box.

Competitiveness

Quality made product, clear crisp has more to offer than the way more expensive competition.

I used the vortex 2-inch offset mount.

Son bought this for his wife’s gun.

I would reccomend this scope for the average shooter.
