Pros & Cons
Pros
Good value when compared with other high end spotting scopes. You need a tripod to get the most of this scope. I shoot rifle and * matches for my profession and needed a solid little scope that would fit in my bullseye/precision * box.
Current binoculars and past scopes*for reference, my zeiss conquest hd 8x32, which i really like and find to have great image quality for the price.
At 11x it can be used like a binocular, hand-held and useful for scanning for things. This version has a single knob to set tension and lock the ball. The eyecup is a fold up/down style rather than a twist up.
Cons
I have the vortex viper 20-60x85 and thought i would upgrade getting the razor but to me the viper is better at 60x zoom. I never focus on something clear.
Highlights
Quality
I was really concerned that this scope wouldn't measure up, but the quality of the build and the image are way better than i'd even hoped.
*things that could have been better*overall, i am very pleased with this purchase.
While the small size was very easy to carry, the image quality was not even close to the level of my binoculars.
It also seemed large at the time, and the build quality was average.
Price
At the time this was about half the cost of the razor hd 11-33x50.
Packaging/appearance
The only flaw is the end cap is made to fit inside the the scope base instead of outside.
Competitiveness
I am using this with a manfrotto 190 tripod.
While a little harder to control than a 3-way head, it is also very quick to center and level out.
