Pros & Cons
Pros
All components store nicely in the canister. Nice packaging and good set of bits. Most people paying a high price for a precision tool i would imagine, want it packaged neatly and nicely. Came well packaged and delivered as promised.
Unlike many similar tools, this is graduated in single inch lbs instead of 5 inch lbs. It’s much better than most torque drivers because you can set the per pound instead of just guessing between 10-20. Very heavy built with a fat grip handle.
High quality product and worth every penny. Would recommend to anyone needing to mount an optic, tighten down certain screws, and general purpose.
Used to install a weaver rail on a shotgun. Bought this for mounting sights in guns.
The dial has a nice positive click into place. Includes the testing to show the tolerances of the wrench.
Cons
The part that actually holds the bits in place is awful. It takes a ton of force to get the bit in, and once you do get it the ring on the outside deforms. No matter what you do it won't hold the bit unless you disassemble and drill the thing. The pro... Read More
The bits are hap hazardly thrown in a zip lock bag, usually reserved for crack or * distribution. Also not terribly reusable for storing the bits.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to use, accurate, and feels like solid quality.
This is a solid tool, easy to read and adjust and the included bits a high quality.
Setting the torque is not intuitive and the directions are no help.
No way to keep the tool and bits organized.
Price
Been putting it off because a little pricey but definitely worth it.
It's possible/likely that this won't be required, but shouldn't be a possibility at such a pricepoint.
Shipping
Came well packaged and delivered as promised.
Packaging/appearance
Nice packaging and good set of bits.
The package it comes in fir display is junk.
I am unsure if i got a unit that was poorly packaged from the factory or a return that was resold as new.
If you're like me, and now that everything has been correctly torqued, you will most likely not find the packaging to be a problem.
Competitiveness
I chose the vortex over a few other manufacturers even though it was a few dollars more.
