Pros

The fan keeps the old drafty house pretty consistent. The included bracket works well for mounting. Installed this fan in our attic to help our stove exhaust hood.

The vortex is ultra-quiet on a speed control on low settings, on high it does sound like a jet, still a bit quieter than the valuline and sounds cleaner. This fan is powerful but not noisy.

Creates desired airflow. It performs flawlessly and moves a ton of air. It totally cranks.

These work by modulating the power provided to the fan. In the event something gets * up and either stuck inside or has potentially damaged the fan, it is easy to disassemble it. It's so powerful that you need to get a grate on the opening.

Perfect vent motor for my 5 gallon brewery. It has plenty of air flow to vent out my 9 gallon pot at a full boil through 20ft of flexible insulated ducting.

Quality

The only thing i would reconsider would be to go with the 8in with a variac variable transformer controller.

This is a great example of a well built product.

I have the variac controller with the 6in but i stopped using it because i always had it maxed out.

I installed this vtx1000 into my duct that goes to my master bedroom along with the switch, duct pressure by tjernlund .

This fan is powerful and loud,sound dampens when ventalation added but a qiuter maybe called for depending on your paticular needs.
