Powerful Airflow
Customers have generally positive opinions about the powerful airflow of the Vortex Powerfan VTX600. The fan moves a significant amount of air and is considered quieter than some competitive fans, although a few customers mentioned experiencing noise issues when using certain speed controllers or running it without one.
Highlights
Quality
Excellent fan, sturdy construction and nice mounting hardware included.
It moves a considerable volume of air, is quiet, well made.
It runs on a gfi circuit and has never tripped it.
The one the mfg recommends (dial a temp) and amazon (ac/dc) both created noticeable buzzing with ac/dc being absurdly loud.
Price
Sad to see the company cheap out like that.
Still a great fan for the money.
Competitiveness
My first fan was a vortex, when i needed another one tried a different fan to save money.

The vent hood is a large galvanized wash basin from home depot with a hole cut in it to attach the vent pipe flange which i got at the store as well in the hvac section

The vent runs up to the bulkhead in the basement when im using it then when not in use i bring the white board back down out of the bulkhead and stand it next to the brew stand

I do run the blower for about 5 hours or overnight after i finish brewing to evaporate any condensation in the pipe which is definitely in there

The metal piece over the hole in the tub is to catch condensation dripping out and direct it away from the brew kettle
