The image quality at 20x is essentially the same as it is at 5x.
Competitiveness
I would highly recommend the vortex razor hd for tactical or competition use.
This is a great scope, well worth the money, having used a similar nightforce it holds its weight.
The price point is well in a competitive range with the similar featured scopes by the competition.
