Cuts out the bad noise. Filters the good noise. Works great to protect from loud noises. Noise control at the tip of his fingers is great, minimal sound when down range.
Cons
What a complete letdown. Misrepresented and not impressed with quality. Tried three sets of new batteries still dead. Showed case included but not in box.

When you turn up the volume so you can hear people talk any background noise gets louder also
