There are two layers the bathing suit layer that covers you from shoulders to tail this is pretty stretchy and the leg area is slightly tight maybe my thighs are too big but the leg area could almost be mini shorts as it is a little longer than a fitted bathing suit the other layer is a sheer type of fabric that flows from the waist past the fitted bathing suit

Btw the xl didnt rip and it doesnt squeeze my thighs uncomfortably if that helps anyone else ordering
