So the documentation isnt great so heres the steps i took to connect this to my mqtt server which took about an hour of testing to figure outyoull want to start by grabbing a rs232 to usb cable and go over to the waveshare website and look up the support page for 34rs232485422 to poe eth b34

Doubleclick your device from the list theres probably only going to be one listed then set the ip mode to dhcp this will save some headache in the long run unless you really want a static ip for some reason
