I have many of this brand and this line (elements), and have only ever had 2 fail (500gb size) in the last 20 years or so.
I've used wd hard drives for over 20 years now, and even the 20-year-old ones still work fine.
Storage capacity has been my only issue, and at 16tb per unit, this should hold me for awhile.
This will make it a journaling file system and much more resilient if improperly disconnected.
Price
Great price for storage and the transfer speed is faster than what i thought it to be.
For the money was worth it for me.
Considering the price, it was an acceptable trade-off.
