Pros

Light weight and easy to install. No longer lags when telling it to change channels or record. Has extended the life of an out dated laptop.

The only downfall with western digital is that their free cloning software (acronis) is pure garbage. They use much less power than a rotary hdd so it's less taxing on your power system. This works with a friend's old dumpster fire dell.

Cons

The drive is no longer recognized on my pc. Upon manually disconnecting and reconnecting the usb, the drive shows up for a few seconds before disconnecting all the while the light on the external enclosure is flashing. Now support says the item is def... Read More

This is the second drive that died out of the blue. The headline says it all. No phone numbers. Nope, the drive is dead.

I have purchased this before, and i’ve been very satisfied with the increase in speed!

With the software from wd it made so easy to clone my main drive.

The cloning software and tools make it about as easy as it gets and real wd quality.

Price

I bough a cable to plug it direct into my mac and can use it as an external hard drive yet it cost me 60% of the cost.

Competitiveness

I would like to get a 4tb for music storage someday soon.

Worked perfect in my amcrest network video recorder.

After i installed them, i dumped a 60gb file onto each to test the transfer speed of each one.

It should be noted that as fast as this drives is, it's not as fast as some of the newer nvme drives.
