Update:anyhdd has offered to refund my purchase i am satified with the way they are handeling this issue.

I bought 4 which brought the price down by ~$5, and they work just fine.
The correct product was expadited without any additional costs incured.

I was able to format the drive and begin using it for backups right out of the package.

Still reliable and tough as any enterprise drive should be but also well past 5 years old so forget contacting western digital if they fail
