Pros & Cons
Pros
Purple beam is so good! Bonus, it is purple (their favorite color)! I got an amazon basics corner climber for my 11mo old grandson, it’s perfect for him. Great for beginners or just for fun.
They are both in rec gymnastics, and my older is a cheerleader. The little girl i bought it for turned 5 & loves gymnastics.
It's a little hard to use on an uneven surface like on the grass and stuff, but it's great! It's like 95% great for jumps and 5% little bit un-sturdy. The fact that it is so squishy makes it great for stability training. It stays in place nicely.
The sturdiness is good unless you lean more on one side than the other. I bput it for my granddaughter but it is sturdy enough for my 175lbs with no problem. Sturdy but soft, easing fear of injury.
Cons
This product should not be used as a beam for a serious gymnast. It is fairly squishy and can't be used for actual gymnastics.
Very flimsy. It smashes flat as soon as my 8 year old tried to get on it. The lack of firmness makes it difficult to stay on the beam.

Competitiveness
My daughter has been tumbling for a couple years but just started her first year of competition gymnastics this month.
Not only is it used to practice her gymnastics, but also for imaginative play!
Softer than i thought it was but it works for our toddler the best not so much our gymnastics training girls.
