The middle hinge also can bind if you move both sections of the arm too fast instead of pivoting cleanly so you should try to move it more deliberately and adjust each section individually if possible

If you are using it with just a webcam the weight wont hold the cam in place i had to remove one of the springs to keep it from moving

We find that if we dont tighten it regularly like once a week suddenly the arm will fall off the table when you arent expecting it

For optimal appearance the camera should be placed just above your eyelevel and angled slightly downward
