Pros

The apple chunks give a great smoky flavour to bbq food. They give a nice subtle smokey flavour to the meat. Great for adding flavour to meat. Plenty of smoke and decent longevity.



Cons

The wood chunks burn nice and clean but are gone in a couple of mins defeating the cooking by smoke element they are intended for. Despite what it says, this is no good in a vertical (broilking) gas *. The wood chunk is too expensive for what it is.

    I put the wood just touching on piece of burning charcoal and it created plenty of smoke four about 20 or 30 mins

    Never been able to use wood chips successfully so decided to switch to chunks and found these were much easier to use

    Remember your meat will only take on smoke for the first few hours so dont waste your wood by adding after that time
