Pros & Cons
Pros
Overall, this grill is the epitomy of manliness. Without hesitation, it's the best grill i have ever had. I say this is the cadillac of grills, and i mean it.
Everything is sturdy and solid and much of grill is quality stainless including the burners and grates. Only complaint is that with an integral rotisserie, there should be a place to put the grates, when you take them out. The grates are ceramic treat... Read More
Weber grill is accurate, hot, versatile and great for every aspect of bbqing. The finish work is precision on the upper grilling area. The ability to control how the food is grilling is excellent. There is a great lady who knows every part of every gr... Read More
Sear burner works as advertised providing a center hot spot to sear steaks, etc. The sear station is awesome and gives you perfect sear marks every time. The searing station in the middle is sweet and works well for steaks.
Batteries were included for both. The lighted dials are bright and helpful. The two handle-mounted led arrays are also quite useful at night. Their spectral balance is just right.
Cons
One of my ir burner has failed and one of my burners wont light. Weber service in panama and us is not really interested in my problem. The warranty on such a crucial part is limited to only 2 years.
The grill grate is nice and so is the lid but that's it. The doors are hollow and cheap but skinned in very thin stainless to make it look quality. The stem of the knob cracks no matter how gently you push the knob in and turn it.
Still no dice. The grill is now unusable. They refuse to put the grill back together after they were the ones that took it apart.
If this is how they treat the people who buy their summit s-670, you are totally scr****d if you buy their q1000. Do yourself a favor and take your $3000. Buy their cleaning product.
Highlights
Quality
The sear burner works great and has helped me grill some mean steaks.
I really like the flexibility of this grill, using the rotisserie, out side burners for indirect heat, the searing burners in t... Read More
Over 2 years, all the knobs broke and were replaced under warenty.
Rust; after 14 years it is now time to replace the bottom panel, rusted out and has detached from left hand side frame.
Price
This grill is a fantastic value for the money.
A $900 weber gas grill is a really good grill-- well thought out and backed by a very substantial warranty.
You may think if it is worth $2.
This is too expensive a grill to cheapen out on knobs.
Shipping
It came about 90% assembled and arrived within 10 days as expected.
It was delivered as promised, the driver was gracious enough to place it where we wanted it.
I opened a warranty claim and called 2 days later to get a status.
I explained in advance to amazon that my delivery might be an issue.
Packaging/appearance
Luckily, it comes well packed and there was no damage.
It was very well packaged and did not have any dents.
The packaged grill weighs over 300 pounds.
It will take 2 people to properly remove the grill from its packaging base but 1 person is able to finish the assembly.
Competitiveness
The distribution of heat on the weber is good--even and controllable-- and better than the dcs.
So i initially decided against weber and was going to purchase a competitor’s grill, unfortunately the company had shut down du... Read More
I looked at high end grills for thousands more but compared to them summit is very cheap.
But in this review i am not comparing the summit to a nexgrill or kitchen aid lined up in the grill aisle-- i am comparing it t... Read More
