I then screwed this piece onto the male nipple already sticking out of my tile

After drilling the tile to accept this unit it was very difficult to create a malefemale stub to connect this item with the drop ear elbow that must be screw to a brace behind this item

My guess is at least 12 from shelf above and say 6 out from corner

I did mine at about 8 from shelf and about 5 from corner at rough in which after insulation tile backer and tile came to about 3 at finish
