Why they even bother to make this dumpster fodder is beyond me. Was trying to repair lava lamp. Not worth it.

Pressure from the cord acts like a brake on the thumbwheel, making the switch malfunction. The nut falls out the bottom while you're juggling the switch and wires. The prongs are too small and the switch is worthless.

This product was not designed to turn your lamp on and off. Only fits the old thin spt-1 wire which is 18/2 with 0. This product, however, is designed to cease functioning with the standard cord size.
