Pros & Cons
Pros
Assembling of this meat grinder is easy. It is easy to assemble and works very well. The accompanying sausage maker takes some learning, and i will try to remember to update that information when i become more proficient with its use.
Parts are tough but could have been machined a little better. Easy cleaning, no over heating. Food grade silicone spray before and after using.
The total volume of the grinder and motor assembly are about like my two hand-cranked grinder stacked one on top of another. Fro what i can tell, the motor seems to have plenty of power, so i expect it to last a long time. The motor is spec'd lower bu... Read More
Cons
This product is worthless for me at the moment. Do not buy this piece of junk. If you want a manual grinder, opt for any other model than a weston anything.
Kitchenaid mixer (aftermarket all stainless) grinder attachment is far superior in craftsmanship. The grinding rod is about 1/4 inch thicker than the square space required and would not fit a normal #5 grinder.
Highlights
Quality
Very powerful 575 watt meat grinder, this is my second electric meat grinder and i have to say the quality seems above-average.
You can have fun experimenting with this machine and you will be pleased with the results.
So i had to crank the handle with one hand and feed to meat into the grinder with the other.
The product will break if you do that.
Price
Very happy with this product and the price is fair in comparison to some other machines.
Shipping
It is fast and makes quick work of everything i have tried to date.
Packaging/appearance
Being able to buy meat in bulk that isn't "presented" in pretty packaging saves money and time.
Competitiveness
Nice heavy-duty motor seemed to cut right through some of the bigger cuts of meat.
Would highly recommend this over the random brands on this site.
Bottom line is this grinder is less than $200 for 1hp of power.
And the 1201 is much cheaper so it seems like a no-brainer decision.
