Weston's 8-inch by 12-inch vacuum sealer bags are made of a thick, durable plastic. Never had any defective bags either. These are top-quality bags, and are on par with the oem bags included.

Cons
I was astonished at the poor quality of their bags. It is in no way 100 count 8x12 bags. What is it instead, is a roll of uncut bags. These bags are brittle and broke thru, burning my pork 3 weeks after freezing.
This batch feels very thin and won't seal with a darn. The real reason is that their profit margins are better with thinner plastic. The material is a lot stiffer than the foodsaver brand - that may have something to do with my particular problem - or... Read More
I have 2 vacuum sealers one food saver and one rival and these bags do not work in either one. I think the micro-channel side is so micro that there's no path for the air to be vacuumed out.
These are junk and very disappointing. I am very disappointed, at this point, because something has gone drastically wrong with quality. Experiencing about a 20% failure ratio.

Competitiveness
These beat the foodsaver brand and this is my third order.
Never had any issues using them with our foodsaver vacuum.
So, i keep my box and then compare prices.
Hopefully amazon will find an american manufacturer for all food related products.
