Pros

Wood chips should be placed inside the coil only, and once you start wrapping the bottom rack with tinfoil, this thing is outstanding. Wish they had a tighter lid!

Cooks steaks perfectly with the thermometer probe. I use a piece of aluminum foil on the bottom to catch the grease or water.

Really loving this. It works wonderfully. Although soaking and running through the dishwasher seems to work.

Using weston's programmable * (and slow cooker) is even easier. The space it takes up feels more worth it when it counts as a * and a slow cooker.

Cons

The power cable isn't detachable so it's in the way while you clean. The chamber has integrated electronics so it can't be immersed. The instructions say to wipe it out. But the wood holder is not.

For an indoor *, this unit emits way too much smoke for use indoors. Too much smoke escapes and sets the smoke detectors off. They need to make the container out of thicker gage steel.

I don't know how long this thing will last but at under $100 if it lasts for a year i'll be satisfied with the purchase

I reached out to customer service at weston and they promptly sent me a whole new unit immediately.

The day i ordered it from amazon, i put the pork butt pieces in a brine in the refrigerator.

Turned on exhaust fan and opened the patio and no smell!

I gave my earlier, much more expensive, countertop smoker to my son , and decided to try this one.
